I'm behind an HTTP proxy at my work, so I can't use the automatic update feature.
Would it be possible to have support added for HTTP and SOCKS proxies?

I suppose it should be possible, but I have to take a look first, I've never done it before. Currently it's using http for simple authentication and download. Should it be able to use a specific port or something?

Maybe getting the default system proxy settings may be ok?

Ok, I'll add a proxy configuration panel in the preferences dialog, to enable or disable proxy settings, and configuration will be based on proxy server and port. I suppose this would be enough.
